Three steps to treating acne.

Acne can be caused by a lot of things — hormones, genetics, diet, stress — and because we can't always control those triggers, breakouts can be really annoying. But like everything, they're not forever. Here's how to tackle them in three steps.
First, what are acne scars?
Often babes confuse the red dots left after an active pimple with a scar. Those marks are your skin's natural response to inflammation — post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — and they fade on their own over time. They're not scars. True scarring is the uneven, crater-like texture that can develop from deeper or more severe breakouts. Both respond to treatment, but they need slightly different approaches. Don't fret, babe. You're a babe no matter what.
Step 1: Cleanse to clear active acne
When dealing with active breakouts, a consistent cleansing routine is the foundation. You need a cleanser that removes excess oil and dead skin without stripping your barrier — because stripping triggers more oil production, which leads to more breakouts.
My Enzyme Face Cleanser uses papaya enzymes and niacinamide to dissolve congestion and calm redness without disrupting your skin barrier. Use it morning and night. Double cleanse at night if you're wearing makeup or SPF.
Step 2: Exfoliate with clay and acids
White clay has been used for centuries to draw out impurities and absorb excess oil. Paired with chemical exfoliants, it clears the pore from the inside out and removes the dead skin cells that would otherwise clog it.
My Original Face Scrub uses fine coffee grinds, sweet almond oil, and kaolin clay to polish skin and clear pores without over-scrubbing. Use it 2–3 times a week after cleansing. For a more active exfoliation session, my Brightening Vitamin C Mask combines AHAs, BHA, and vitamin C in a 5-minute mask that simultaneously exfoliates and fades post-acne marks.
Step 3: Moisturise to seal and protect
Skipping moisturiser when you have acne is one of the most common skincare mistakes. Dry, dehydrated skin overproduces oil to compensate, which leads to more congestion and more breakouts. Moisturising is not optional — it's how you break the cycle.
My Caffeinated Face Moisturiser is lightweight and non-pore-blocking. Coffee seed oil, shea butter, and vitamin E nourish and protect without adding to congestion. Apply it after cleansing or exfoliating, morning and night.
Three steps. Consistent routine. Give it 6–8 weeks and see what your skin can do.
